Mechanical Engineer
Description:
Perform routine to moderately complex Mechanical Engineering tasks associated
with the development of high reliability commercial and military electronic
systems. This position will provide support to projects during all
phases: concept development, detailed design, manufacturing, integration
and test. A working knowledge in the following areas is important for this
position: Dimension/Tolerance standards, fabrication practices, commercial
and military connector systems, cable design, electronic packaging, configuration
management, thermal management, vibration/shock and DFM issues.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide support to system level packaging concept development and detailed
design. Develop mechanical piece parts and assemblies, including material
/ finish selection and manufacturing feasibility. Select connectors and perform
detailed cable design. Support the design of high reliability PWB’s ranging
from simple mixed technology to high complexity. Support material procurement-
definition through acquisition; work with vendors to address capabilities,
cost and schedule. Perform first article/receiving inspection duties. Provide
support to projects in the design of test equipment, selection of fasteners,
and the definition of adhesives and coatings as required.
Experience: BSME with 2-5 years of experience developing
high reliability commercial or military Electronic Systems.
3D CAD modeling experience, Pro-Engineer preferred.
